Comparison between Latest iPhones: iPhone XR vs. XS, XS Max, X, 8, 8 Plus, 7 and 7 Plus

Weight


With a beefy 208 grams, iPhone XS Max remains the heaviest iPhone. IPhone 8 Plus can be ranked second in this regard whereas iPhone XR sits on the third position.

Colors


The most commonly used colors of the models in question are golden, silver and "space" gray. IPhone 8 series offers different variants of red and iPhone 7 series comes with black and rose gold versions. IPhone XR, on the other hand, seems to take the lead because it comes with six different vibrant colors which include blue, yellow, red and an orangey/peachy color Apple calls coral.

Build


Most of these iPhones come with glass front and metal back. Aluminum is used in the Phone XR, 8 and 8 Plus. And stainless steel is used in iPhone X, XS and XS Max. Older iPhone 7 series cam with the aluminum unibodies which made the phones lighter and sturdier but those phones couldn’t be wirelessly charged.

Water resistance


The iPhone XS and XS Max are the first apple devices to be rated IP68 for prevention against water and dust. It means that these phones can survive for 30 minutes in the water to a depth of 2 meters. The other models are rated IP67 which means that they can survive for the same amount of time but under half of the depth.

Display resolution


IPhones have great display resolutions which make the phones really attractive. IPhone 7 Plus and 8 Plus come with 1080p Full HD. Rest of the models offer 720p, 2K, QHD and higher. Generally, iPhone do not have higher screen resolutions as compared to the competitors but these phones make up for it in other different ways.

Processing performance


In 2018, the iPhones launched used Apple's latest processor, the A12 Bionic. This CPU is 15 percent faster as compared to the phones launched in 2017. The iPhones launched in 2017 had 50% better performance as compared to the older phones. It means that you can open multiple app in the phone and the phone is going to respond well.
